Dishwasher powder is so very quick to make that I guarantee once you try it, you will never go back to buying commercial (and toxic) varieties again.
You will need:
- 2 cups of bicarb soda
- 2 cups of washing soda
- 1 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup of citric acid
- 40 drops of essential oils (I chose Lemon and Wild Orange for their purifying properties)
Throw everything in a food processor or thermi - blitz until combined and then store in an airtight container.
That is it.
I generally use 1 to 2 tablespoons per load depending on the dirt level. If things are really grimy, I also add a cup of white vinegar and 10 drops of Lemon essential oil to the top rack. This normally does the trick and also gives your dishwasher a bit of a clean too.
If you would like to find out how you can obtain doTERRA essential oils (which are the highest grade available!) at wholesale prices, please check the ‘essential oil’ and ‘workshop’ page of this website. Alternatively, drop me an email and I will be happy to chat xx
